Diabetes Prevention Program
STARTING JUNE 2026
This is a year‑long lifestyle change program designed to help prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. The program is offered live and online and teaches you how to make lasting changes, such as eating healthier, adding physical activity to your daily routine, and improving coping skills.
To better support you, both daytime and evening classes are offered, making it easier to attend sessions, fit the program into your schedule, and make up missed classes.
Program Overview
In the second 6 months, you will continue to meet to build on the skills you have learned and maintain your positive changes. You will review key concepts such as setting goals, tracking food and physical activity, staying motivated, and overcoming barriers.
In the first 6 months, you will build a foundation through learning about a wide range of topics such as:
- Healthy eating without giving up all the foods you love.
- Adding physical activity into your schedule.
- Dealing with stress.
- Coping with challenges that can derail your progress.
- Getting back on track if you stray from your plan.
