Anissa Ayala is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who offers a warm, collaborative, and supportive space for individuals, couples, and families to feel heard, understood, and empowered. She brings a compassionate, grounded presence to her work and believes that trust is a foundational part of the therapeutic relationship, creating space for meaningful connection and lasting change.

Anissa has experience working with at-risk youth, families, and adults across community mental health, residential, outpatient, and school-based settings. She supports clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, disordered eating, grief and loss, and life transitions. She is especially passionate about working with children, adolescents, families, and women exploring identity and change, meeting each client where they are with care and intention.

Her approach to therapy is flexible and tailored to each client’s needs, drawing from family systems, cognitive and behavioral interventions, and trauma-informed care. She prioritizes a client-centered, holistic perspective, recognizing the connection between emotional wellbeing, relationships, and environment. Through a systems lens, she helps individuals, couples, and families strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and develop more supportive ways of relating.

Anissa is skilled in crisis intervention, risk assessment, and care coordination, and is particularly attuned to working with clients who may feel hesitant about therapy. She focuses on building strong rapport at a pace that feels safe and supportive.

Outside of her clinical work, Anissa enjoys weekend camping trips to disconnect and recharge, exploring local farmers markets, discovering new matcha spots, and spending time with family and friends.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Diego State University and her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy with Latinos from Pepperdine University.
