Mayra Alvarado, MSW

Mayra Alvarado is an Associate Clinical Social Worker who has experience supporting clients navigate various concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, life transitions, self-esteem, trauma, and more. She earned her Master’s of Social Work, with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health from California State University, San Bernardino in 2022. 

 

Mayra conducted research in postpartum depression and barriers that the Latinx community experience when trying to obtain mental health treatment. She has a strong background in working with people from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds as she worked for the community crisis response team as well as her local school district. Mayra is an advocate for mental health awareness and fights the stigma that is often associated with mental health disorders. She believes clients deserve quality care and a positive experience when seeing a therapist. 

 

She strongly believes in a holistic approach to therapy as it is important to keep a balance between physical health, mental health and spiritual health. She provides clients with a safe, authentic, judgment-free space so they can openly discuss their feelings, thoughts, and worries. Mayra supplies her clients with tools that helps them with self-empowerment, building resiliency, setting healthy boundaries, taking ownership of their lives, healing from past hurts as well as instilling hope for the future. 

 

Mayra is bilingual in English and Spanish and offers individual sessions and group classes. She is a travel aficionado and likes to paint and partake in DIY projects in her free time.
